Hoops for the Ages 3-on-3 Tournament

Calling all male and female hoopsters age 40 and beyond!

The City of Evanston , Levy Senior Center Foundation, and Illinois Senior Games are presenting the annual Hoops for the Ages 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, April 27,  2024. The 2025 dates will be announced in December, 2024.  Any basketball player age 40+ is invited to get a team together and participate.

The goal of the tournament is to celebrate senior basketball players who are proving that hoops can be played at any age!

Supporting the Levy Senior Center Foundation

Hoops, for the Ages is a fundraising event. All proceeds in excess of expenses will be donated to the Levy Senior Center Foundation.  The foundation supports programs for older adults in the Evanston and greater Chicagoland communities. All participants and fans are encouraged to consider making a donation to the foundation.

The tournament will take place at the Robert Crown Community Center and the Levy Senior Center.

Teams and Format

More than 100 basketball players between 40 to 90 years of age are expected to participate in the tournament in teams grouped by age.   The men's and women's teams will compete at these age levels: 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.

The tournament is open to 24 men's teams and 12 women's teams.

Each 3-on-3 game is played with six players (3 per team) on the court in a half-court setup.  Just as in traditional basketball, each basket is worth two or three points, with foul shots earning one point.  A game consists of two 15-minute halves and will follow National Senior Games Rules.

The deadline to register is April 12, 2024.
